Delta CEO Distributes its Profits among 80,000 Employees
Although chocolate is delicious, recognition is also pretty sweet.
On Valentine’s Day, 80,000 employees of Delta Air Lines received a rosy memo. It came from the CEO of the company, Richard Anderson.
“Sharing our success every step of the way” was the subject of the memo. The message announced that Delta is going to pay out $313 million in profit sharing and is will continue to provide opportunities for employees to earn more when the company is making more profit.
“During the toughest of economic times this industry has faced, we kept our deals,” wrote Anderson. ” When other major airlines were announcing involuntary furloughs, outsourcing and hiring freezes – Delta kept its commitment to no frontline involuntary furloughs as a result of the merger; we were bringing Reservations jobs back to the U.S.; we were insourcing in TechOps, Cargo and Airport Customer Service; and, in the last year alone, we added more than 4,000 new frontline jobs.”
